The Soldan Dog Park is a beautiful natural setting with plenty of room for your dog to roam off-leash, with you close by, of course! The park consists of more than 15 acres of diverse natural area complete with trails, a large pond, an expansive open field, pet/human drinking fountains, and a free dog washing station.
What You Need to Apply for a Key Fob
The Soldan Dog Park requires the use of an electronic pass card (Key Fob) for access into the dog park. Click for a brochure that highlights the pass card system and the purpose behind it. You must present a current dog license and proof of rabies vaccination when applying for a dog park pass.

For those without a key FOB to the dog park, the park is not accessible since we currently don’t have staff available to sell new passes. We recommend walking your dog on-leash around the 1.5 mile trail at Hawk Island until we begin selling new passes.

The Soldan Dog Park is located just north of Hawk Island Park in Scott Woods Park (a City of Lansing park). The dog park's main entrance is through Hawk Island. You may also access the park from the west off the River Trail in Scott Woods.
Drive to the very north end of Hawk Island parking area, and then walk a short distance (with your dog(s) on-leash), past the Hawk Island Maintenance Building, to the main entrance of the Soldan Dog Park.
Please note the entrance FOB pass is separate from the annual or daily parking fees collected at Hawk Island. Please click for parking fees at Hawk Island.
The dog park is also accessible through the City of Lansing’s Scott Woods Park, which does not charge a parking fee.
