Canoe & Kayak at Burchfield Park

Take a canoe or kayak trip down the Grand River!
Canoe/kayak rentals have not yet opened for the 2018 season.

Grand River Obstruction: There is an obstruction on the Grand River at the bridge near the Old English Inn blocking access. Please portage around the obstruction. This is a danger for all levels of kayakers and canoers. Click HERE for photos of the obstruction.

Enjoy floating down the Grand River watching fish jump beside your canoe, turtles warming themselves in the sun and herons watching you as you paddle past. Burchfield Park canoe and kayak trips offer park visitors scenic views and wildlife viewing opportunities. Choose one of our three different downstream trips ranging from 45 minutes to 5 hours or try in-park rentals in which you paddle upstream and turn around when you choose. In summer months, June, July & August, Burchfield Park also offers
pedal boat rental in our pond on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please note there is a vehicle entrance fee to enter Burchfield Park.

Meet at the boat house at Burchfield Park 15 minutes prior to the trip times listed below and you will be fitted with lifejackets and paddles and then transported by van upstream to a landing of your choice. Canoe/kayak downstream back to Burchfield Park.
