Special Events

A Special Event Application and Certificate of Insurance are required to hold events such as 5K walk/runs, triathlons, large gatherings and other special events at Ingham County Parks.  Please call 517-676-2233 in advance to reserve a date.

All Special Event reservations are pending Park Manager/Director approval.

Special Event Application

All three pages of the Special Event Application must be completed and mailed/faxed to the Ingham County Parks Department Office 60 days prior to the date of the proposed event.  All information and required documentation must be received no later than 30 days prior to the date of the event.  Click here to download the Application.

Special Event Fees

The following fees will be charged for Special Events based on the number of participants:

 Non-Profit Youth Groups $0 
 1-100 Participants $200 
 101-200 Participants $300 
 201-300 Participants $400
 301-400 Participants $500 
 401-500 Participants $600
 500+ Participants $700 

Parking Fee:
Please note there will be a per vehicle entrance fee of $3 for residents and $5 for non-residents Thursday through Tuesday at Lake Lansing South, Lake Lansing North, Hawk Island, and Burchfield Park; and seven days a week at Potter Park. No vehicle entrance fees will be collected on Wednesdays at all parks, with the exception of Potter Park, or one hour prior to the Friday night Band Shell concert at Lake Lansing South.

If you are interested in purchasing parking passes for your guests, please call 517-676-2233 in advance, before you send out your invitations (or you can leave the parking fee up to your guests).  If you request the passes, a master sheet of the passes can either be mailed, e-mailed, or faxed for you to duplicate and send out in your invitations or registration packet.  A credit card is required to set this system up-your credit card will be kept on file until after your event.   On the day of your event, the passes will be collected at the gatehouse, and a charge to your credit card will be made as soon as the parking passes are turned into the Parks Office.  Please note that the gatehouse attendant will determine whether or not the driver of each vehicle is an Ingham County resident or a non-Ingham County resident and each pass will be charged $3.00 for each County resident and $5.00 for each non-County resident based on that determination. The entrance fee is per vehicle. 

Lake Lansing Band Shell Events

The Band Shell stage at Lake Lansing South is a multi-use facility capable of accommodating performances, plays, concerts, religious functions and other family-oriented cultural and social events by reservation.

Band Shell Fees

The following fees will be charged for the Band Shell stage:

 Monday - Thursday, 11am-3pm  No Charge
 Monday - Thursday, 5pm-sunset  No Charge
 Monday - Thursday, 11am-sunset  No Charge
 Friday, 11am-3pm  $50
 Friday, 5pm-sunset  $100
 Friday, 11am-sunset  $150
 Saturday, Sunday, Holidays, 8am-11am  $50
 Saturday, Sunday, Holidays, 5pm-sunset  $100

Please note that the Band Shell is not available for rental on Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays from 11am-5pm; prior to 11am Monday-Friday; and on Fridays from Memorial Day to Labor Day due to the free Friday night Band Shell concert series.

Public Address System - $75.00
Stage Chairs - $25.00
Music Stands - $25.00
If using all 3 types of equipment the fee is $100

Applicable fees are required 60 days prior to the planned event. These fees are non-refundable
