To reserve a picnic shelter or to check shelter availability, you may call the parks office at (517) 676-2233 between the hours of 8:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday or book online. 

Please read all of the following information before placing an online reservation.  The following restrictions apply when reserving a shelter:

Residents of Ingham County can reserve a date exactly one year in advance.  For example, to reserve August 10th of the following year, the reservation can be entered starting on August 10th of the current year or after that date by calling the Parks Office at 517-676-2233 from 8:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday or by completing an online reservation at 12:01am starting on August 10th or after that date.  Reservations will not be accepted before the one year mark.  If the reservation is placed before the one year mark, the reservation will be denied. 

Non-residents can reserve three months in advance.

Online reservation requests are pending approval and does not confirm your reservation.  Park staff will contact you to confirm the reservation.

Please keep in mind that only ONE shelter reservation per day can be accepted. If there are times listed on a date on the reservation calendar this indicates the shelter is reserved for that day and no more reservations are approved.  If the date on the reservation calendar shows no times the shelter is available to be reserved.
