Located along the banks of the Red Cedar River, Potter Park welcomes today's visitors to enjoy an afternoon picnic, find a quiet bench on the river bank, or enjoy a casual game of Frisbee on the lawn. Grill your own hot dog in the park, or take a walk and visit the concession stand located near the zoo for an ice cream or cold drink. Picnic tables and grills are located throughout Potter Park for your enjoyment, and three picnic shelters are available for rent.
Please note there is a vehicle entrance
fee to enter Potter Park.
Bring your running shoes, bicycles or roller blades and jump on the Lansing River Trail. Head north to enjoy the sites of downtown Lansing or look to the east for a route that will lead you through beautiful natural areas on your way to Michigan State University campus. The Park Opens One Half Hour before Sunrise for Pedestrian Access and 8:00am for Vehicle Access. The Park Closes One Half Hour after Sunset, unless otherwise posted.
Dogs are not allowed at this park (with the exception of on the Lansing River Trail).
