Park Updates

August 28-September 1: Please note there are various closures of park activities the week of 8/28 to 9/1 due to staffing levels at Hawk Island and Lake Lansing South. The swimming beach will be closed 8/28 to 9/1 at Lake Lansing South. The swimming beach and boat rentals will be closed 8/28 to 8/31 at Hawk Island. Normal operating hours resume for the Labor Day holiday weekend.  Please be sure to check hours of operations for certain activities to ensure availability: click HERE for boat rental hours and HERE for beach and Splash Pad hours. 

Labor Day Weekend: Park activities will be open for the holiday weekend and Labor Day (9/2 to 9/4). Click HERE for more information on park activities.

Beach Hours:
Hours vary by park. Click HERE for beach hours. 

Canoeing/kayaking: The McNamara Landing, Bunker Road and Eaton Rapids canoe/kayak trip are open for the season. Click HERE for more information. 

Pedal Boat & Rowboat Rental: Click HERE for rental hours and rates.

Sound of Summer Concerts: the Friends of Ingham County Parks host free Friday Night Concerts at the Lake Lansing Park South Band Shell concert stage June-August. All Friday evening performances begin at 7pm. There is free parking and admission, and for the kids, free entry to play on a moonwalk and giant slide! Bring your lawn chair and a picnic and we will see you this summer.  Click HERE for the schedule.

Volunteer Opportunities: Looking for opportunities to learn about nature and to improve your favorite park?  We offer flexible volunteer outings for groups and individuals of all ages, please e-mail Emma Jakobcic (ejakobcic@ingham.org) and click HERE for more information.

Shelter Rentals: Ingham County Parks have picnic shelters that accommodate 50 to 375 people.  Learn which shelter will best meet your group’s needs by calling the parks office at 517-676-2233 or click HERE to review shelter prices, seating accommodations, and pictures of the shelters. Reservations can be made by calling 517-676-2233 Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00am-4:30pm.

The purpose of the Parent Advisory Committee is to represent the views of parents who have children with disabilities in special education. The Fall Fun Festival will be an opportunity for parents to receive resources and information while enjoying a day at the park.

MParks Grand Experience

The communities of Southern Michigan Recreation and Park Association invite individuals 50 years of age and better to join us on this all inclusive trip complete with five-course dinners, cocktail reception, carriage tour, and variety of programs exclusively for our group and this special 50th Anniversary that will make your vacation at this world class destination a truly Grand Experience!

The North West Initiative will be selling fresh fruits and vegetables to park attendees out of their mobile truck. The truck will be visiting the park every Friday from 3 - 5 pm!

2017 Annual Park Passes Available

Annual 2017 passes, for Ingham County residents are available for $30.  2017 annual passes are valid from purchase date until December 31, 2017.   Non-Ingham County residents passes are $40.   Annual passes are available at all park gatehouses and in the parks office at 121 E. Maple St., Mason. There is a daily per vehicle entrance fee year-round of $3 for Ingham County residents and $5 for non-residents at Burchfield Park, Hawk Island, Lake Lansing Park-North, and Lake Lansing Park-South.  No vehicle entrance fees will be collected one hour prior to the Friday night Band Shell concert at Lake Lansing Park-South.  Ingham County welcomes everyone to our parks.  If paying the vehicle entrance fee would be a hardship, please ask the attendant to waive the fee with a hardship pass.
