Dr. Bill Earl Youth Fishing Program: We are inviting you to join us for fishing on May 6, 13, or 20, 2017, at Hawk Island Park, Lansing. This is a free program for youth, ages 5-16, to learn basic fishing skills of casting, knot tying, regulations, and fishing ethics. Check-in will begin at 8:30am and the program runs from 9:00am to noon. A responsible adult must remain on-site with each youth participant. Please click here to register:

2018-2022 Ingham County Parks Master Plan: the 2018-2022 "draft" Master Plan is available online by clicking HERE. The next step is for the Board of Commissioners to adopt the plan at their March 28, 2017 meeting.

Capital City Dragon Boat Race

Teams will be practicin2014 Kids teamdragon_boat_event_5675hdg all day from 10:30 a.m. to about 5:00 p.m. The course at Hawk Island Park will allow viewers  to have a 360 degree view of the lake to watch all of the action! Stop by to watch your team practice!


7:30 a.m. – Teams start group tai chi workout and participate in the traditional Awakening the Dragons ceremony. Again this year: a Pink Carnation Remembrance ceremony, honoring those who have lost their battle with cancer, those who continue the fight, and those who have won their battle.

8:30 a.m. – Races begin!

Hawk Island County Park
Join us for the 4th annual walk/run/wheel race! Proceeds of this all ages, all abilities event benefit Tri-County Office on Aging, a regional not-for-profit organization serving older adults, persons with disabilities, families and caregivers through in-home services such as Meals on Wheels.

Burchfield Park - Free Parking w/ Passport 
The Greater Lansing Convention & Visitors Bureau has been coordinating this family-friendly, community-building event for 23 years. Each year seems to reacquaint both visitors and residents with all that Greater Lansing has to offer. By purchasing a “passport” for one dollar, participants (local residents and visitors) are admitted into all participating attraction venues. With your passport you will be admitted to Burchfield Park for FREE.

2017 Annual Park Passes Available

Annual 2017 passes, for Ingham County residents are available for $30.  2017 annual passes are valid from purchase date until December 31, 2017.   Non-Ingham County residents passes are $40.   Annual passes are available at all park gatehouses and in the parks office at 121 E. Maple St., Mason. There is a daily per vehicle entrance fee year-round of $3 for Ingham County residents and $5 for non-residents at Burchfield Park, Hawk Island, Lake Lansing Park-North, and Lake Lansing Park-South.  No vehicle entrance fees will be collected one hour prior to the Friday night Band Shell concert at Lake Lansing Park-South.  Ingham County welcomes everyone to our parks.  If paying the vehicle entrance fee would be a hardship, please ask the attendant to waive the fee with a hardship pass.
