Park Updates

Lake Lansing Park North: is temporarily closed for vehicle traffic due to issues with the gravel road leading into the park. We are working to improve the road condition. We are directing traffic to the neighborhood access or you may park at the boat launch and walk into the park.

February Friday Night Special:
 The snow tubing hill at Hawk Island has a Februrary Friday Night Special rate of $5 per person for snow tube rentals. Weather permitting, the hill is open 4pm-8pm on Fridays. Click HERE to check the status of the hill.

2018-2022 Ingham County Parks Master Plan: the 2018-2022 "draft" Master Plan is available online by clicking HERE. The next step is for the Board of Commissioners to adopt the plan at their March 28, 2017 meeting.

Public Meeting - Ingham County Parks & Recreation Commission

On February 27, 2017, at 5:30 p.m. the Ingham County Park Commission will host a public meeting at the Human Services Building, 5303 S. Cedar Street, Building #3, Conference Room B, Lansing, Michigan, to seek community input regarding a proposed Michigan Department of Natural Resources Trust Fund Grant application for park and accessibility improvements at both Lake Lansing North and Burchfield Parks.

We would like to encourage the citizens to share any ideas or suggestions about this project, particularly those with disabilities.  If you are interested, please attend the meeting, or send written comments in advance of the public meeting to the address listed below.

Winter Warm Up - Goal Event

Hawk Island County Park
The 15 instructional sessions included in the Couch to 5K training program will lead to a free tri-county goal event. The free Blue Cross Winter Warm Up 5K walk/run and celebration will be at Hawk Island in Lansing on Sunday, March 26, 2017.

ICASF Doggie Easter Egg Hunt

Hawk Island County Park
This event will benefit the Ingham County Animal Shelter Fund. Dogs will hunt for eggs on the lawn near the Red Tail Shelter.

ASM 5K Run for Autism Acceptance

This 5K is an event to help raise awareness and promote acceptance of Autism. There will be refreshments and awards following the run.

Dr. Bill Earl Youth Fishing Program

Join us on May 6th, 13th, and 20th at the Beach Cabana at Hawk Island for a day of youth fishing. This is a hands on educational program that the Ingham County Parks is proud to help facilitate. Registration opens March 1st. To register, visit: 

2017 Annual Park Passes Available

Annual 2017 passes, for Ingham County residents are available for $30.  2017 annual passes are valid from purchase date until December 31, 2017.   Non-Ingham County residents passes are $40.   Annual passes are available at all park gatehouses and in the parks office at 121 E. Maple St., Mason. There is a daily per vehicle entrance fee year-round of $3 for Ingham County residents and $5 for non-residents at Burchfield Park, Hawk Island, Lake Lansing Park-North, and Lake Lansing Park-South.  No vehicle entrance fees will be collected one hour prior to the Friday night Band Shell concert at Lake Lansing Park-South.  Ingham County welcomes everyone to our parks.  If paying the vehicle entrance fee would be a hardship, please ask the attendant to waive the fee with a hardship pass.
