Park Activity Updates

  • Free Youth Fishing Events ~ Click HERE to register for the Dr. Bill Earl Youth Fishing Program.  Registration deadline is May 1, 2012.  Event is held May 5th at Lake Lansing Park South and May 19th at Hawk Island from 8:30am-12:00pm.  This is a free program for youth, ages 5-16, where they can learn basic fishing skills such as casting, knot tying, rigging for different types of fishing, regulations, and fishing ethics. 
  • Tree Sale ~ Attention landowners & outdoor enthusiasts: the Conservation Connection LLC is offering a tree sale!  Order trees for your land or donate them to the Ingham County Parks!  Order deadline is March 30, 2012.  Click HERE to download the order form.
  • Master Plan Update ~ The Parks Department is currently working on its 2012-2016 Master Plan.  The draft of the 2012-2016 plan is available for review by clicking HERE.  A Public Hearing will be held on February 27, 2012 at the Human Services Building at 6pm.  Please feel free to attend and share your thoughts on the future of your county parks or click here to share your feedback.

What You Need to Know

There will be a per vehicle entrance fee of $3 for residents and $5 for non-residents Thursday through Tuesday at Lake Lansing Park-South, Lake Lansing Park-North, Hawk Island, and Burchfield Park; and seven days a week at Potter Park.  No vehicle entrance fees will be collected on Wednesdays at all parks, with the exception of Potter Park, or one hour prior to the Friday night Band Shell concert at Lake Lansing Park-South.  Annual passes are available for $30 for Ingham County residents and $40 for non-Ingham County residents.  Annual passes are available at all gatehouses.  Ingham County welcomes everyone to our parks.  If paying the vehicle entrance fee would be a hardship, please ask the attendant to waive the fee with a hardship pass.
